What does your Media Blueprint include?

Simply put, the Blueprint contains insider information on the media that connects you with your target audience.

Specifically, you get:

  • Contact information and editorial profiles for targeted reporters/editors at 10-15 media outlets (traditional and online) that will put your brand in front of customers.
  • Two pitches to be used with the selected media targets. I match the pitches to the targeted media outlets to cut out guess work.
  • Implementation notes to help you put the Blueprint into practice.
  • A 1 hour pitch training via Skype.
  • Up to 2 hours of e-mail support to answer any questions you might have about your Blueprint.

  • When you sign up, I contact you within 24 hours to schedule a 1 hour call, either on the phone or over Skype. On this call, we discuss your goals and begin uncovering your story. Your Media Blueprint is delivered within 30 days of this call.
  • I send you “The Fundamentals” worksheet, which further mines your story for pitch angles. I’ve been told by clients that this worksheet also leads them to new insight into the inner workings of their businesses. This is just a bonus! :)
  • I begin researching your specific media targets.
  • I may e-mail you with a few follow-up questions related to particular pitch ideas over e-mail.
  • Within 30 days, I deliver Your Media Blueprint.
  • We schedule a training session, where you learn how to pitch the media! All this material is included in the Blueprint, but I find the session reinforces the material, and it allows you the opportunity to ask questions.
  • I encourage you to e-mail me any questions you have while implementing Your Media Blueprint.

What about the price?

If you’ve contacted PR agencies or publicists, you know that media support is expensive. Agencies billings start at $2,000 a month and only go up from there. And it could be months before you see results!

For many business owners, this makes sense. Not everyone has the time to implement their own media plan.

I break the payment into two installments: a 50 percent deposit when you confirm the project, with the remainder due within 15 days of the project’s completion.

My professional background

I honed my craft working for corporate clients. My specialty was public affairs. I started out at a boutique Chicago agency, moved to top agency Hill & Knowlton and ended my agency career at yet another boutique.

I’ve helped clients get their message out in every format. Some of my favorite media outlets to work with included The Chicago Tribune, Don Wade & Rome (Chicago-based morning talk program), CNN and Bloomberg.

Big budget projects can be fun, but my heart wasn’t in it. My passion is in helping people pursue their passion. PR just happens to be the way I get to do that.
